WHY WATCHING PEOPLE DRINK WINE IS ALWAYS BAD TELEVISION
I wrote a piece for Noble Rot magazine called "TV Sinners: Why Watching People Drink Wine Is Always Bad Television." It's about something I've been asked hundreds of times over the years: why not make a Chef's Table for wine? I love wine, and I know there are incredible winemakers with stories worth telling. But I've never been able to figure out how to make it work on screen. The article digs into why wine has stayed niche on television while food has exploded, and why the visual medium might just be fundamentally at odds with what makes wine special.
"On camera, all red wine looks the same, all white wine looks the same, all orange wine looks the same. Champagne? That looks like other Champagne."
